    GREASE "KNOW HOW"

Knowledge is the key to success in most business ventures, not least in the world of lubricating grease.
Grease is one of the oldest lubricants known to man but it is, in fact, only recently that significant breakthroughs
in the understanding of lubricant mechanisms have been able to turn grease technology from a black art into a
modern science, a paradigm shift from know-how to "know-why".

It is imperative to keep an open mind and share knowledge with our customers andother members of the grease community. The "LubrisenseTM White Papers" (axelch) are one way of spreading information.
These are intended to describe the basics of lubricating greases and to highlight specific topics which we believe to be of common interest.

  • Anhydrous Calsium

Multipurpose greases based on lithium technology have been state-of-the-art for more than 60 years but there are other alternatives which are simply better in many applications. Lubricating greases based on anhydrous calcium soap, for instance, are characterised by their exceptional water resistance, good adhesive qualities and improved low temperature performance. This technology has been further enhanced by more qualified production techniques and by the incorporation of modern polymers into the grease structure. Many different versions are now available including synthetic products for extremely low temperatures, super water resistant greases for wet environments, foodgrade qualities and even readily biodegradable products for sensitive environments. Our Mystik line of greases includes these specs.
